Blood and body fluids don’t glow naturally under blacklights. They may faintly glow because of chemicals called porphyrins, but the glow is too weak to see. Luminol is used by investigators to find hidden bloodstains. When sprayed, it reacts with blood and glows blue under UV light, helping to find traces that are hard to see.
