The Southern African Development Community (SADC) is a trade and economic union of Southern African countries, established in 1992. SADC’s primary goal is to foster socio-economic development, political stability, and security cooperation among its 16 member states. The organization includes South Africa and all its neighboring countries—Namibia, Botswana, Zimbabwe, Mozambique, Eswatini (formerly Swaziland until 2018), and Lesotho. The SADC flag was officially unveiled in 1995 during the SADC Summit in Kempton Park near Johannesburg. The blue color represents the sky and oceans, symbolizing the essential water sources for life. Green reflects the region’s rich biodiversity and agricultural potential, while the gold lettering of "SADC" highlights the area's abundant mineral resources. #history#flags
