A good friend asked me what it means to be “good” at something. How about these conditions? 1. The people you care for will not be ashamed when you do it. 2. The people who care for you will not have to lie to find words of praise. 3. You yourself, in absolute honesty, could say that you couldn’t do better. (Not generally, but at that particular moment in time and space.) 4. An amateur will be awed or inspired by what you did.
