socialization, mental illness "just gonna say this: if someone has social anxiety and they ask you something akin to 'are you mad at me' or 'do you hate me', it isnt because they dont trust you, its because their brain literally tells them that all the time"

socialization "sometimes people use "respect" to mean "treating someone like a person" and sometimes they use "respect" to mean "treating someone like an authority" and sometimes people who are used to being treated like an authority say "if you dont respect me i wont respect you" and they mean "if you wont treat me like an authority i wont treat you like a person" and they think they're being fair but they arent, and its not okay"

minorities, discrimination, society "white privilege doesnt mean your life hasnt been hard; it means that your skin color isnt one of the things making it harder"

lgbt, relationships, socialization, abuse, self worth "i think something that doesnt get talked about enough is the way that being gay can put you in more dangerous situations with relationships. so many times gay people are just happy that someone is interested in them that there isnt as much consideration of if that person is good for them, because hey, at least they're gay too and that worries me a lot" [admin note: this extends to not only queer relationships but also many other circumstances including but not limited to physical disabilities and mental illness]
