socialization, society, theory "mutual aid is a radical act It's not radical because it exposes people to Karl Marx or socialist theory, but because it normalizes cooperation and the value of human beings. You're not valuable because of your potential labor, you're valuable because you’re human. Everyone deserves resources, care and support. It took consistency and conversation for community members to feel comfortable to take resources. Many felt others were more worthy of it. But we are all worthy. Mutual aid isn't charity. It doesn't rely on conditions for support. You don’t need to identify as homeless, substance used, refugee, or low income to be provided support. Mutual aid is a radical practice because it disrupts that belief & instead recognizes everyone has needs."
