During the spooky season, you may be tempted to get something with activated charcoal in it because it looks cool - BUT!! if you're taking medications, it may weaken the medication! Especially important to consider with something like birth control! For everyone on HRT, activated charcoal FLUSHES it out of your system. PLEASE stay away from it! This includes T, E, and birth control, as well as most medications. Be safe!! If you're making something for someone, just use black sesame paste, squid ink, or artificial colour additional note to be added: this only affects orally ingested medication, if you are only on injectibles then activated charcoal will not affect anything other than nutrient absorption"
