✉️President of Russia Vladimir Putin sent a message of greetings to the participants and guests of the 11th Review Conference of the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons(April 30, 2026) ✍️ I welcome you on the occasion of the opening of the 11th Review Conference of the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons (#NPT). The obligations stipulated by the Treaty regarding the non-proliferation of nuclear weapons, disarmament and the peaceful use of nuclear energy are of fundamental importance for international security and fully meet the interests of both nuclear- and non-nuclear-weapon states. Our country – as a responsible participant and one of the depositaries of the NPT – strictly follows the Treaty's letter and spirit. We believe that, in the current difficult international situation, additional multilateral efforts are required to create conditions for further progress towards building a world free of nuclear weapons, while strictly observing the principle of undiminished security for all. We proceed from the understanding that all countries that fulfil their obligations under the NPT in good faith have the inalienable right to enjoy the benefits of the peaceful atom without any restrictions. I would like to reaffirm that Russia, as one of the leaders in nuclear energy, stands ready to continue developing constructive cooperation in this area with all interested States Parties to the Treaty.
