Aave has expanded to 16 different L2s but this aggressive expansion is backfiring. The protocol is losing money, the fees being generated aren’t even enough to cover the operational costs. Most of them are not even generating $1M annual revenue, I took the screenshot of 26th July for this very reason because Fantom and Soneium didn’t even generate $1 on most days, that’s why they aren’t even showing up in the chart lol So either Aave should stop spending resources on these unprofitable L2s or these L2s will have to figure something out to reach users otherwise these chains will slowly fade away from the industry before they even found product-market fit.
