Leon Trotsky (Lev Bronstein) in his- Diary in Exile, admits the regicide was ordered by Sverdlov and Lenin. Even if they didn't order it, they still supported it as you can see here Bronstein justifying it.

Apparently there are people who believe Grand Duchess Elizabeth was never a nun, but just a lay woman that lead a charity organization. I have no idea where this confusion comes from. Here is her tonsure date, taken from the book she herself published in 1914- "The Martha-Mary Convent".
