The mother lode: more than 3,000 Viking coins found in Norway Metal-detector enthusiasts uncovered 19 silver coins on April 10 near Rena in eastern Norway, kicking off an excavation that has already turned up more than 3,150 coins. The hoard has been named the Mørstad Hoard. The coins date from roughly the 980s to the 1040s and include English, German, Danish, and Norwegian silver that was buried around 1050. An expert from the University of Oslo called the find “truly exceptional,” and archaeologists say the dig will continue for at least two more seasons.

🚀 Last night saw one of the biggest Ukrainian drone attacks on Russia yet. Our forces shot down 334 drones. The attacks were stopped in the Moscow region, the Leningrad region, and Crimea. In the Smolensk region, drone debris hit an apartment building. Two adults and one child were injured. (Photo 1) In the Leningrad region, 60 drones were shot down, with the key target reportedly being the commercial seaport of Primorsk. A 77-year-old man was killed overnight in a drone attack on a private residential area in the Moscow suburbs. (Photos 2–4) The enemy has almost no major drone factories left. They’re all in Europe now. That’s where the drones are assembled, then shipped to Ukraine fully ready to go, and launched from there for attacks.

This smells like trouble, holy fucking hell!!! 🇷🇺 NATO military drills have kicked off near the Russian border. The Northern Strike 26 exercises are now underway in Finland — just 70 kilometers from Russia. They’re running artillery drills and live-fire exercises together with the U.S. and other alliance countries. Experts are linking this to possible preparations for opening a Karelian front and to NATO’s offensive ambitions.

The next AirPods may come with cameras. The idea is basically the same as with smart glasses: you’d be able to ask questions about your surroundings in real time. They’re expected to be called AirPods Ultra. The cameras will most likely be infrared. They won’t be able to shoot video, but that’s still enough to feed data to Siri. There’s also a chance Apple will throw in gesture controls. They could be unveiled as early as September alongside the foldable iPhone Ultra.

‼️🇵🇱🇺🇸 The Polish prime minister said NATO is “falling apart” after Trump’s decision to pull U.S. troops out of Germany. “ The greatest threat to the transatlantic community is not its external enemies, but the continuing collapse of our alliance. All of us must do everything necessary to reverse this catastrophic trend,” Tusk wrote.

U.S. national debt has now grown bigger than the country’s entire economy — hitting $31.27 trillion against a GDP of $31.22 trillion, Fox Business News reports. That means the debt load has climbed past 100% of GDP, something that has not happened since the end of World War II. The U.S. is now creeping toward its historical peak of 106% of GDP, which was recorded back in 1946 during the massive postwar demobilization of the military.

⚡️ Home internet just flatlined across Moscow and the surrounding region — judging by what residents are reporting, the outage has slammed every provider. People can’t open websites, apps, or services — even the providers’ own sites are just throwing error pages. Welcome to the Stone Age. 😜

🇧🇾 “Well, I guess we can say you finally invented a spaceship,” Alexander Lukashenko said about the new BELARUS-5425 tractor. It’s the most powerful model in its lineup, with more than 92% of its parts made in Belarus. The tractor comes equipped with autopilot and a 900-liter fuel tank, which lets it run for up to 10 hours without stopping.
