🗓🇿🇦November 11 — birthday of South African artist Esther Mahlangu (born 1935) 🎨 Esther is celebrated for her bold, large-scale paintings inspired by the Ndebele heritage. She is one of South Africa’s most renowned contemporary artists. 🚗 In 1991, she made history as the first woman to contribute to the iconic BMW Art Car series, using feathers to apply her paint — a symbol of cultural pride and innovation. ⚡️ In 2024, BMW Group unveiled a new fusion of art and technology — the BMW i5 Flow NOSTOKANA, created by Esther Mahlangu and named after her first son.
