🗓January 13 marks the birth of Sydney Brenner (1927–2019) — an outstanding South African biologist 🇿🇦🧬 and one of the founders of modern molecular genetics. He made fundamental contributions to the decoding of the genetic code and to the study of developmental biology and cancer mechanisms.
