Illusions about the Balkans and Serbia The extremist current still does not understand that the strategic defeat of the U.S. is most strongly driven by the very ideas they advocate, which have no connection with reality. Such positions raise the level of confrontation, provoke opponents, and give them motivation to resist. The key proposal that Joseph puts forward in his analysis goes entirely in this direction. Moreover, the entire tone of the analysis reveals a sense of satisfaction at the idea of further humiliating Serbia, insisting that a country which was bombed should be grateful to its aggressor. Such a sick enjoyment on Joseph’s part reflects the essential motives of the extremist current among American experts, who apparently draw inspiration from the rat channels dug after the Second World War. It remains unclear by what means Joseph thinks the U.S. can force Russia to abandon all its demands and accept a new “Resolution 1244,” which the U.S. in practice completely annulled by directly violating international law and creating the terrorist state of Kosovo in the heart of Europe. If the Serbs agreed to this not because they believed the U.S. would adhere to international law, but because they had no choice after 78 days of NATO bombing to which they could not respond, then how can NATO, which is losing the war in Ukraine, impose rules on the side that is winning? Conclusion: Delusions that Lead to Defeat Joseph also loses sight of the fact that Russia possesses powerful weapons it has not yet used, and against which the West has no means of defense. While the U.S. was intoxicated with its victory in the Cold War, proclaiming the “end of history,” Russia was developing hypersonic and nuclear weapons. Now in its arsenal it has Zircon, Poseidon, Burevestnik, Oreshnik, Kinzhal, Avangard, and so on. In one word—solid arguments. The U.S. has not succeeded in developing hypersonic weapons, but it does have hypersonic provocateurs who make the situation even worse. Joseph could turn his fantasies into something useful. Perhaps “Resolution 1244” will be useful for Texas in the future.
