The day after the praetor made Primus come, and told him: “See how your brother is much wiser than you, and he obeyed to the emperors and received honours? If you want to imitate him, you will also have the same honours and graces”. But Primus: “I’ve come to know from an Angel of what has been done to my brother. God wants me to be united to the same martyrdom as I am very united to His will”. At which the praetor go on a rampage, without counting the other torments already given to Primus to the presence of Felicianus he ordered to be poured some liquid lead in his mouth. Thus, he had them both led into the amphitheater, and exposed to two lions: but these, crouching at their feet, caressed them with their heads and tails. Out of more than twelve thousand men gathered for this show, five hundred embraced the Christian religion with their families. The praetor, exacerbated by such things, ordered that they be beheaded. Their bodies were transferred by Pope Theodore I (642-649), from the XV mile of the Via Nomentana (near today's Mentana) to Rome, where they were buried with honour in the church of Santo Stefano Rotondo, on the Caelian Hill.
