SAINT BARNABAS, APOSTLE Barnabas, Levite, also known as Joseph, native of Cyprus, was ordained with Paul as Apostle of the Gentiles to announce the Gospel of Jesus Christ. He, selling the farm that he had, brought the obtained money to the Apostles. Yhen sent to preach in Antioch, having foound many converts to the faith of the Lord Christ, he rejoiced immensely, and exhorted them to persevere in the faith of Christ. His exhortation had great success, because everyone regarded him as a good man and full of the Holy Spirit.
