🇬🇧🇷🇺🇺🇦BBC: A British national has been killed in Ukraine and a second is missing, the UK Foreign Office has said. Sources in Ukraine told the BBC the dead man is Scott Sibley, who is understood to have been fighting for Ukrainian forces. He is the first British national confirmed to have been killed in the conflict and has been described as a "friend like no other". The Foreign Office has not released the identity of either person. Details of Mr Sibley's death and how or when the second person went missing have not been given.

🇫🇷NDTV: Internet services were down or running slowly in several French cities on Wednesday after fibre optic cables were cut overnight in "attacks" on the crucial infrastructure, telecom operators said. In a message on Twitter, the company referred to "multiple malicious acts" targeting its cables. Competitor SFR said it had experienced "several fibre cuts" in the Paris region and in Lyon in southeast France

🇪🇹Hiiraan: Ethiopian authorities have arrested four suspects in connection with the Sunday bomb attack at a hotel in the historic city of Harar. No group has claimed responsibility for the attack, the second in the region in less than two weeks. 🇧🇫AP: Hunger is soaring across conflict-ridden Burkina Faso, a result of increasing violence linked to al-Qaida and the Islamic State group, which has killed thousands and displaced millions, preventing people from farming. Some 3.5 million people are food insecure, with nearly 630,000 expected to be on the brink of starvation, according to the latest food security report by the government and U.N. agencies. This is an 82% increase from last year of people facing emergency hunger.
