September 6, 2024 Roaring Kitty posted a single image from Toy Story. To understand it, you have to remember the scene it comes from. In that moment, Andy looks at Woody and says: “I forgot you’re broken. I don’t want to play with you anymore.” Then he lets him go. Woody isn’t broken beyond repair and he isn’t being punished. He’s simply no longer the toy Andy reaches for. Andy’s interest drifts elsewhere. The attention shifts. The play moves on. That feeling mirrors what happened with GameStop. In 2021, GameStop was the favorite. All eyes were on it. Belief moved it in ways no one expected. It felt alive and free. After that moment, things changed. The system adapted. GameStop became watched, understood, and managed. The story didn’t disappear, but it stopped being the place where surprise lives. Just like Woody, it still exists. It just isn’t the toy being played with anymore. That’s what this image and the scene behind it really show. No Drama. No ending. Just the moment when attention quietly leaves one place and starts looking for the next. One story had its turn. Another is waiting.
