The Jarawa tribe inhabits the Andaman Islands in the Indian Ocean, living in nomadic groups of around 50 individuals. Their ancestors migrated from Africa, and their current population is approximately 400 people. In the 1990s, the Indian government wanted to provide them with more modern living conditions, but the Jarawa refused. Our comments:- 1.These people including Onge and other sentinel islanders are good proxy for indigenous indian dna. 2.Unlike modern indians these real proto indians are often confused with black africans by commoners. 3.They rejected government aid which might show their dignity and self respect against "Vedic" hegemony.
