Ethiopian Jews Genetics •Roughly a half way mix of sub saharan and west eurasian. •Ethiopian Jews do not cluster with other Jews but instead with Eritreans and other natives of the Horn of Africa. •Eritreans drift more towards west eurasians indicating more caucasoid admixture than Ethiopian Jews. •Closest to Ethiopian Jews in Fst are Eritreans. • No evidence that the west eurasian ancestry in Ethiopian Jews comes from Israelites due to their haplogroups being very different from that of other Jews and Israelites. • Majority of Ethiopian Jews are of the A-Y23865 male line which is native. •A very small minority of Ethiopian Jew males have J1-P58 it’s hard to make out if it’s from Arabs or Jews. Conclusion: Ethiopian Jews are mostlikely the result of a very small elite of Hebrews who came to Ethiopia and converted some of the natives there. These Hebrews were probably Egyptian mercenaries who came before the Babylonian captivity.
