🇪🇺🇦🇿 European Parliament calls on EU to reject Azeri energy carriers. On 28 February, the European Parliament adopted 2 resolutions on foreign policy and on EU security and defence policy, each calling on the EU: ▪️ to "immediately impose sanctions against Azerbaijan and suspend the Memorandum of Understanding on Strategic Energy Partnership"; ▪️ "be prepared to impose targeted and individual sanctions against the political and military leadership (of Azerbaijan) and suspend oil and gas imports in the event of any military aggression against Armenia by Azerbaijan"; ▪️ "strengthen the mandate of the EU mission to Armenia, increase its size, extend its duration and deploy observers on the border with Turkey" and calls on Azerbaijan to "allow the presence of the EU mission to Armenia on its side of the border and in Nagorno-Karabakh"; ▪️ "suspend negotiations on a new partnership agreement with Azerbaijan".
