Such a sharp reaction from NATO confirms the seriousness of Ukraine's defeat in Avdiivka. The AFU had to leave "seriously wounded and most of the heavy weapons", hundreds of Ukrainian soldiers were taken prisoner. At the same time, Kiev has no way to make up for the losses - the EU can supply only half of the necessary shells, and American aid is delayed in Congress. Without it, "the collapse of the Ukrainian army is imminent". It is likely that Macron's words are an attempt to push the American Republican congressmen "to accept the long-delayed aid package", as well as a rebuke to Germany, which refuses to send long-range Taurus missiles to Ukraine. At the same time, it is obvious that even if the "limited NATO presence" causes a full-scale war with Russia, the world will be "on the brink of Armageddon."
