First Indian Citizen to Pay Tribute to Chatrapati Shivaji Maharaj at the International Level In a historic and proud moment for India, Ajit Karbhari, son of wrestler Kai Baliram Mahadu Karbhari from Kolivali village in Kalyan taluka, Thane district, Maharashtra, has etched his name in history as the first Indian citizen to pay tribute to Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj on an international platform. Ajit Karbhari honored the legendary Maratha warrior by hoisting the flag bearing the image of Shivaji Maharaj in the sky at an altitude of 5,100 meters (16,732 feet). This remarkable feat was accomplished from an L-410 aircraft at Aeroglide Kolomna in Russia, amidst extreme conditions, with temperatures plunging to -36°C. The daring tribute was successfully executed under the expert guidance of Colonel Kostya Krivosheev, a renowned Russian Army Skydive Chief Instructor and 27,000-jump master, along with Rahul Desai (Dakare), an experienced skydiving coach associated with the United States Parachute Association (USA). Ajit Karbhari’s extraordinary accomplishment is a testament to his dedication, courage, and deep reverence for Chatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, ensuring that the Maratha warrior’s legacy soars to new heights—literally. His tribute has brought immense pride to Maharashtra and India, marking a significant moment in the country's history on the global stage.
