RIP Ferrochrome launcher: Google is killing its one-click app that would've let you easily run Chrome OS in a VM on your Android device. Imagine having an app that automatically downloads, configures, and runs Chrome OS in a VM for you, on like a Pixel Tablet. More details on what we're missing out on can be found in this article on Android Authority.

Chrome for Android is rolling out tab group syncing! Some users on Chrome 129 are seeing a new page in the tab switcher that's dedicated to tab groups. The tab groups you create are automatically saved and updated across your devices, so long as they're using Chrome signed into the same Google account. You can go to Settings --> Tabs under the Advanced header to manage this feature. (There's supposed to be a "Learn more" link but it seems Google forgot to include one. Oops.) Google announced tab group sync support last month, but it hasn't rolled out to me personally yet. LMK if you see it!

Google is rolling out an update to Quick Share for Windows that fixes a few bugs. v1.0.1939.4 * Fixed an issue that caused the app to crash when you open your files and folders. * Fixed an issue that caused the app to crash when you close it. * Removed the Quick Share desktop shortcut. * Fixed an issue that caused transfers that took more than a minute to time out. * Fixed an issue that shows the PIN code when both the sender and receiver are mutual contacts. * Added car and foldable devices to the list of device types. * Improved app animations for better system performance and longer battery life. * Added credential expiration and revocation handling, so you’ll be notified more often when the app is not working properly. The bit about adding "car and foldables devices to the list of device types" is interesting as Quick Share isn't available yet on Android Automotive...

HyperOS on the Xiaomi 14T Pro has a small, but interesting change from the previous version: Xiaomi is no longer using the media output switcher from AOSP/stock Android but rather their custom one that you see in Chinese versions of HyperOS. Their custom one fits better with the rest of HyperOS' design and thankfully supports showing Google Cast devices still.
