During the “Znanie” (Knowledge) Educational Marathon, President Putin spoke candidly about his family’s wartime history. He also visited Mamayev Kurgan in Volgograd together with Belarusian leader Alexander Lukashenko, paying tribute to the heroes of the Battle of Stalingrad. In St. Petersburg, at a meeting with the Council of Legislators, Putin emphasized that all branches of Russian state power have demonstrated genuine sovereignty in today’s challenging circumstances.
