It's alarming for us, young males. The number of friendships, affection and sympathy among men, especially young men, is steadily decreasing. The percentage of men who said they had at least six close friends fell by half between 1990 and 2022, according to data from the Gallup Polling Institute and the Center for the Study of American Life. According to experts, changing habits and lifestyles have affected the amount of friendships, so that more than 20% of Americans report that they have no close friends at all.
