Martin, 18, told the Opinions Matter podcast on Tuesday that he was the victim of Garda brutality on Monday in Coolock when he was stopped walking home from McDonalds. He said he has received 40 stitches for his injuries and had lumps all over his head from being beaten with a baton. He also said he was pepper sprayed and thumped even when he was secured in the back of a Garda van. Martin said he had nothing whatsoever to do with the protest and will be bringing a complaint to GSOC. A number of commentators have described some of the scenes on Monday in which elderly people and at least one child were pepper sprayed as reminiscent of the thuggery carried out by the RUC in which Garda Commissioner Drew Harris OBE once served. 🔗open.spotify.com 👉🏻join Late Stage Ireland
