This data amounts to 41% of total voters telling exit pollsters that they agree with the statement that immigration is a negative for Ireland, including 55% of Sinn Féin voters, 39% of Fianna Fáil voters, and 36% of Fine Gael voters. That's a large chunk of the electorate, despite the low turnout. Nearly a fifth of PBP and Labour voters also agreed with the statement. We could see evidence of this in the transfers: the largest number of Gavin Pepper's transfers (631) went to PBP's Conor Reddy, for example. That's a problem for them, especially considering the poll was done face-to-face in public, and the question was asked about all immigration in general—not focused simply on asylum seekers or illegals or non-EU migrants. Immigration might be the dog that didn't bark in this election, but it's growling behind the fence. 👉🏻join Late Stage Ireland
