The Irish honey bee is now at grave risk of extinction due to the mass importation of foreign bees. "If this trend continues, the genetics will be lost and part of our natural heritage, our native Irish honey bee, will be lost forever". What's always left unexplained is the reason why so many foreign bees are being imported: Foreign humans (Poles and other Eastern Europeans in particular) prefer them as they produce more honey for lower overhead and aggressively squeeze Irish bees out of the pollen market.
