A well-known professional statistician won’t publicly admit the true scale of Ireland’s population shift, according to a participant in a livestream on X yesterday, who estimates that non-Irish people now account for 30 percent of the total population. While the participant claimed the statistician agreed with the figure after examining the data, he refuses to speak openly about it, fearing for his job. In the CSO’s 2022 census, 20 percent of respondents recorded themselves as foreign-born, while 77.2 percent identified their ethnicity as the option ‘White Irish’. I've previously written about how I believe there is a lot of evidence that the CSO undercounts how many non-Irish people are living in Ireland (see here for example). 🔗titkok.com 👉🏻join Late Stage Ireland
