The Garda Armed Support Unit attended an incident at the Fairgreen shopping centre in Carlow town after the alarm was raised at around 6.15 pm today. It is understood that a nine-year-old boy has been shot in the leg. It's reported that the shooter shot at the roof inside Tesco Supermarket and came out and shot himself. It's reported that he had an explosive attached to his leg. The boy has non-life-threatening injuries and was brought to St Luke’s General Hospital in Kilkenny.
