MP for North Antrim Jim Allister is continuing to blame Ireland's EU membership for Ballymena's 'demographic balance being destabilised' with Roma with claims that 'busloads' of Roma are being trafficked into the north after flying into Dublin. But If 'busloads' of Roma from Eastern Europe have been crossing the border within Ireland to settle in the north 'for years', why hasn’t Jim Allister been demanding their deportation? They would have crossed the border illegally. The reality is that the main source for Roma in the north is Britain’s existing Roma population of over 100,000—and they can travel freely across the sea without so much as waving a passport, thanks to the open border migration corridor unionists insist on maintaining.
