Roma Feud in Balbriggan Leaves One Dead After Hit-and-Run, Car Ramming, and Street Brawl. The incident unfolded at around 9 pm on Monday when a man in his 20s was struck by a vehicle on Railway Street. Gardaí believe he was deliberately targeted. Shortly afterward, a black BMW 3 Series was rammed near Balbriggan Garda Station on the Drogheda Road. A blue BMW and a silver Audi were also involved in the incident. The two incidents were followed by a street brawl between two rival Roma factions, some of whom were armed with weapons. The Garda Public Order Unit was subsequently diverted from a football match at Dalymount Park to control the situation. “The feuding within the Roma community has been simmering for a few weeks,” a source told the Irish Mirror. “On Monday night, gardaí were receiving calls from every Roma address in the town.
