The allegations are this foreign man tried to snatch a kid from a children's playground in the Grand Canal Dock area, probably the one beside the Marker luxury hotel as you can see it in the footage. He appears to be exhibiting abnormal behavior similar to the foreigner who is alleged to have snatched a baby from a pram on Sheriff St one week ago. Yesterday, footage circulated of a Ukrainian man getting a beating in Cork after serious allegations were made against him of doing unspeakable things to a boy in a disabled toilet stall in Merchant's Quay shopping centre. Supposedly he was questioned for six hours and released. All the media could tell us is that gardaí "have confirmed that an investigation is underway following an incident of alleged assault" and that "no further information has been made available". The frequency of incidents like this is startling especially as there seems to be an effort to brush them under the carpet, and this is causing a great deal of unease among the public.
