On Sunday, the Indo published the top five reasons Sinn Féin are traitors: 🔹 In 2016, the Sinn Féin manifesto promised to regularise all "undocumented people" living in Ireland. 🔹 In 2017, delegates at the party's ard fheis were asked to vote on a motion opposing any EU deal that would see the mass deportation of asylum-seekers and called on the government to ensure Ireland opened new legal channels for refugees to be resettled here. 🔹 In 2018, Sinn Féin backed a bill by Paul Murphy to nullify the result of the 2004 birthright citizenship referendum which Sinn Féin’s Donnchadh Ó Laoghaire called a “deeply unsettling episode in Irish politics”. 🔹 In 2019, Sinn Féin senator Paul Gavan called on the Government to “significantly increase” the number of asylum-seekers and refugees being accepted by the State. 🔹 Sinn Féin’s Pa Daly also called for asylum-seekers issued deportation orders to be included in Helen McEntee's blanket amnesty for illegals.
