This is probably one of my most shared clips. The then Táinaiste and Peter Sutherland protégé, Simon Coveney, let the cat of the bag at a public meeting at the Goat Bar & Grill in Goatstown on the 27th of November 2018, unaware he was being recorded. He had previously told Newstalk of the government's desire to double the population of every city outside Dublin but nobody had asked him how. That evening he explained the plan was to import half a million immigrants over the following 20 years while trying to avoid migration becoming a political issue. It was a startling admission but he could rely on the media to never report on his remarks. But not even I could have envisioned we'd already be two thirds of the way there with a population increase of 340k just six years on. Imagine what the next 14 will be like if we don't turn this around. 👉🏻join Late Stage Ireland
