I searched for love in a book, Between the lines of the story. I hoped to find love that looked, Like some eternal glory. I searched for love in the stars, That shined bright in the sky, Hoping my lover's eyes will shine too, Whenever I pass by. I searched for love in the flowers, Whose fragrance was soothing. And wished for someone who smelt such, That my senses feel like losing. I searched for love in dreams, Where I had a beautiful shape. And my man looked handsome, Was tall and wore a cape. But I came to know my story is not in books, And stars leave at sunrise. Also that flowers have thorns too, And beauty has to demise. So then I started to open my eyes, And look for love around me. And I found it smiling at me, Breaking chains that bound me. I'm glad I opened my eyes soon, So I found happiness that I missed. Love is a beautiful thing, you see.
