THE FRIENDSHIP LETTER FOR MAY 2022 BY BISWASWARUP DASH They’re the few people who accept silence over conversation. A relationship like this denies silly promises and persuasion. To me, fair friend, you never can be old, For as you were when first your eye I eyed, such seems your beauty still. Three winters cold have from the forests shook three summers’ pride, I was angry with my friend: I told my wrath, my wrath did end. They’re the ones that guide you through when fate takes a turn. Fights, small and large, end in forgiveness, never a burn. I was angry with my foe: I told it not, my wrath did grow. I watered it in fears, Night & morning with my tears; And I sunned it with smiles with soft deceitful wiles. Three beauteous springs to yellow autumn turned, In process of the seasons have I seen, Three April perfumes in three hot Junes burned since first I saw you fresh, which yet are green You don’t feel the need to second guess thoughts or measure words. Their love comes in wholes, not halves, not thirds and it grew both day and night, till it bore an apple bright. My foe beheld it shine and he knew that it was mine and into my garden stole, When the night had veiled the pole; Ah! Yet doth beauty like a dial-hand, Steal from his figure no pace perceived; So your sweet hue, which methinks still doth stand, Has motion, and mine eye may be deceived for fear of which, hear this thou age unbarred: Ere you were born was beauty’s summer dead in the morning glad I see , My foe outstretched beneath the tree. You forget about first impressions and the feelings they brought. I hold no dream of fortune vast, nor seek undying fame. I do not ask when life is past that many know my name. I may not own the skill to rise to glory’s topmost height nor win a place among the wise but I can keep the right. You’re grateful for who they are and you forgive me for what they’re not. I don’t think you will ever fully understand how you’ve touched my life , made me who I am. I don’t think you could ever know , just how truly special you are that even on the darkest nights , You are my brightest star. If you’re feeling down; turn your frown upside down. You’ve allowed me to experience something very hard to find, unconditional love that exists in my body, soul, and mind. I don’t think you could ever feel all the love I have to give and I’m sure you’ll never realize you’ve been my will to live. Without you I don’t know where I’d be. Having you in my life completes and fulfills every part of me. Put a smile on your face; take the world in your embrace. You came as a ray of light made my life cheerful and bright showering your affection over me so that my face was full of glee. Ask for a little help from the man up above. Taking away my complete loneliness giving me back all the happiness with a Midas touch of your care to keep me away from despair. I’ll never leave you midway and tales of our bond people will say , remember you have your best friend’s love. #review#poetry
