A 3-strikes law is simple: Commit 3 serious crimes, and you’re permanently removed from society. The data shows that most crime is committed by the same repeat offenders with long arrest histories. Stopping them after their 3rd offense would dramatically cut overall crime, because the majority of offenses come from a small group who keep getting released. Advocating for a 3-strikes rule means fewer repeat offenders on the street, fewer victims, and a safer society with a predictable, consistent justice system. It’s a straightforward policy with a clear benefit: Stop the chronic offenders, and you stop most crime.
