Farmed salmon isn’t “healthy.” It’s one of the most polluted foods on the modern plate. Multiple independent analyses have shown that farmed salmon carries dramatically higher levels of dioxins, PCBs, and other fat-stored industrial toxins than any other commonly eaten animal product. That’s because the fish are raised in crowded pens, fed ultra-processed pellets made from contaminated fishmeal and seed-oil byproducts, and treated with chemicals to survive disease-ridden conditions. This is why tests repeatedly show that farmed salmon contains up to 7–10× more toxic pollutants compared to beef, pork, chicken, or even eggs — exactly what you see in the chart. If you want salmon, go wild-caught. Farmed isn’t “fish.” It’s an industrial product.
