Why is sitting too much a bad thing? The human body is designed to walk. But computers and office work force us to sit for 7 to 9 hours a day. The typical "bonuses" of a sedentary lifestyle are spine and posture problems, shoulder, neck and back pain, and headaches. A sedentary lifestyle inevitably leads to extra pounds. Obese people spend 2.5 hours more sitting than thin people. I recently read an interesting study by scientists from Chester University, daily standing for 3 hours provides 144 kcal burned. If you change your lifestyle and spend 3 hours longer than usual on your feet, you can get rid of 3-4 extra pounds in a year. Lack of physical activity or its complete absence, including sitting in one place for a long time, increases the risk of developing dozens of chronic diseases, from cancer and diabetes to heart problems and non-alcoholic liver disease. 🚨Source : @HeathSafetyTps
