Thanks to sonofmom and akme, we have network monitoring tools tonmon.xyz and tonmine.xyz. We were surprised to find that many users are spending significant power to pow-givers mining on the current network and this process is growing. Since coins in the current network have value, it seems to make sense to create a separate testnet for development and testing.
