Farcaster gets acquired by Neynar, after raising over $150M Decentralized social media infrastructure firm Neynar is acquiring Farcaster. In 2024, Farcaster raised $150M backed by Paradigm, a16z crypto, Haun Ventures, USV, Variant, Standard Crypto and others. "Over the next few weeks, we’ll transfer ownership of the protocol contracts and code repositories, the Farcaster app, and Clanker to Neynar," Dan Romero, founder of Farcaster and co-developer of the Warpcast client. Previously, Farcaster shifted its development efforts to its wallet app, moving away from the social media service it became known for.
