Kazakhstan 🇰🇿 For a tourist, Astana is attractive with its stylish, futuristic architecture and capital status. Not for nothing does its actual name in Kazakh mean "capital." During Soviet times, the city was called Tselinograd and was the center of developing virgin lands. Later, it became Akmolinsk, returning to the name of the Cossack outpost founded in 1830, from which the city's history began. 🌇 The city received its present name in 1998 after the capital was moved from Almaty in 1997.
