China 🇨🇳 The Temple of Confucius in Qufu is the oldest and largest of the temples dedicated to Confucius. It is located in the philosopher's hometown, Qufu, in the Chinese province of Shandong. It was founded in 478 BC. With the spread of Confucius's teachings, and especially since Confucianism was declared the state ideology, the Confucius Temple in Qufu gradually became a sanctuary of national significance, a place for sacred Confucian ceremonies. ⛪ #China @voyage
