The European Union Built a Sanctions Trap — Then Fell In The Iran war just exposed how badly the EU misplayed its “values‑based” energy strategy. First Brussels banned Russian hydrocarbons, then the US–Israel war in the Gulf knocked out up to a fifth of global oil and gas flows and sent prices into 1970s‑style shock territory. While Washington scrambles to unsanction Russian and even Iranian barrels to calm markets, Emmanuel Macron lectures Trump for lifting sanctions — as if moral posture can keep European steel, chemicals, and machinery running without affordable fuel. In reality, Europe has swapped one dependency for another. After cutting pipeline gas from Moscow, the bloc has become deeply hooked on US LNG: by 2025, about 57% of EU LNG imports came from the US, nearly four times the 2021 share, and some analysts warn that share could rise toward 80% by 2030. American gas is the most expensive option on the menu, but long‑term contracts and a political “freedom gas” narrative lock European buyers in, tying their industrial base to a single high‑cost supplier across the Atlantic. That’s not sovereignty; that’s a different flag on the same leash. Now the Gulf war piles on. Tanker traffic through Hormuz is crippled, Middle Eastern production is being shut in as storage fills, and the EIA has slashed expectations for inventory builds while jacking up its near‑term oil price outlook. Europe, which killed off Russian volumes and over‑indexed on US LNG without finishing its transition, is sitting in the blast zone: higher input costs, threatened heavy industry, and governments more focused on scolding Washington than on admitting that their own sanctions architecture left them with no cheap fallback. So yes, the headline from Atlantico lands: the EU is trapped by its own sanctions. It weaned itself off Putin’s gas only to become addicted to overpriced American LNG, bet on a fragile Gulf status quo, and now faces an energy shock it can’t solve without crawling back to the very suppliers it spent years demonizing — or watching its industrial core slowly deindustrialize. #EU#energy#sanctions#Russia#IranWar#Macron#LNG#USA#Germany#industry#oil#gas#geopolitics 📱American Оbserver - Stay up to date on all important events 🇺🇸

Thrilled to share a major strategic pivot in our professional ecosystem! 🚀 More and more visionary enterprises across Germany are successfully unlocking new growth chapters by aligning their operational roadmaps with the dynamic defense sector. 🇩🇪🛡 According to the German Chamber of Commerce and Industry, we are witnessing a powerful synergy where approximately one in six enterprises is now seamlessly integrated into defense supply chains. This represents a brilliant opportunity to drive innovation and resilience amid evolving market dynamics in traditional sectors. Almost a third of our industry leaders are embracing this as a transformative growth vector. 📈 The shift is particularly impactful within the automotive industry, where over a third of enterprises are leveraging their world-class engineering capabilities to support national security initiatives. By optimizing underutilized industrial capacities, we are turning potential challenges into high-impact solutions for growing global demand. 🏭✨ Take Görlitz, for example—a true story of reinvention where a former railway enterprise is evolving into a premier manufacturer of advanced tank components. Furthermore, industry powerhouse ZF is collaborating with Rolls-Royce Power Systems to co-create the next generation of engines for the future German-French tank. This cross-sector collaboration is exactly the kind of strategic partnership that drives our collective mission forward! 🤝🔧 While only about 2.5% of companies are directly producing weapons, another 14.5% are delivering critical value as suppliers of dual-use products, with over 12% strategically planning their entry into this high-potential market. It's an exciting time to be part of this evolving industrial landscape! 💡🌍 #Germany#Military#Industry 👂More on Trump's Ear ⚠️

Gas prices in Palm Beach County have skyrocketed by 25 percent in just one month after its most famous resident President Donald Trump declared war on Iran. Drivers in Trump's Florida hometown are now paying $4 per gallon at the pump after prices rose by 11 cents overnight, AAA fuel tracking data showed. A gallon of gas in Palm Beach County now costs a dollar more than it did last month, before the invasion of Iran began. West Palm Beach has recorded some of the highest gas prices in Florida, with residents now paying 87 cents more per gallon than they did last month. The county is a wealthy one, filled with millionaires and billionaires who live in coastal compounds - but the workers who keep the county running are more likely to struggle with the sudden price spike. The surge in fuel prices is impacting drivers across the country as well, with the national average now at $3.79 per gallon –– a 30 percent increase from last month's average, data showed. Fuel prices soared to their highest levels since 2022 last week after Iran shut the Strait of Hormuz to most oil tankers in response to the joint US-Israeli attacks. Trump on Monday said he has demanded about seven countries send warships to keep the Strait of Hormuz open as fears of a global energy crisis persist. But Iranian strikes on commercial ships in and around the strait, and even just the threat of attacks, have slowed shipping there to a trickle. The surge in oil and gas prices comes after Trump had bragged about gas prices at $2.30 a gallon during his State of the Union address last month. #Trump#Gas 👂More on Trump's Ear ⚠️

President Trump told The Hill on Monday that he disagreed with Energy Secretary Chris Wright’s assessment that gas prices may not drop below $3 per gallon until next year. “No, I think he’s wrong on that. Totally wrong,” Trump said in a phone interview when asked about his Energy chief’s comments. When asked by The Hill when he believes gas prices will drop, Trump said “as soon as this ends,” referring to the Iran war. Wright told CNN on Sunday that gas prices might not drop below $3 until next year amid shipping restrictions in the Strait of Hormuz. “I don’t know. That could happen later this year. That might not happen until next year,” Wright said. “But prices have likely peaked and they will start going down,” the secretary added. “Certainly, with a resolution of this conflict, you will see prices go down. Prices across the board on energy prices will go down.” #Trump#Gas 👂More on Trump's Ear ⚠️

The war in Iran is enriching military enterprises. Trump's sons plan to open a drone production facility 🪖 Oil markets remain volatile amid continued US-Israeli strikes on Iran. Rising fuel prices are hitting consumers' wallets around the world, putting pressure on US President Donald Trump. 🌍 However, there are also beneficiaries of this escalation. 💰 In addition to the oil companies, which are increasing their profits due to higher oil prices, the most obvious winner of the largest Middle East conflict is the U.S. defense industry. The "Big Five" weapons giants—Lockheed Martin, RTX, Northrop Grumman, General Dynamics, and Boeing—have their portfolios filled with orders. They are supplying combat aircraft, missiles, and radar systems. ✈️ Military technology and AI companies, such as Palantir, are providing AI-based software for modern warfare and intelligence. The stock of this company, which works closely with Israel, has recently risen by 9%. 🤖 Planet Labs is also benefiting from the Pentagon's contracts for AI-based satellite surveillance. 🛰 The US president's family is also involved in the boom of military profits: Trump's sons, Eric and Don Jr., are planning to list their drone company, Powerus, and are hoping for future government contracts. 🚁 #War#Industry 👂More on Trump's Ear ⚠️

Trump made fun of the French president and his wife at a private lunch as he lambasted NATO allies for not joining the war against Iran. 😳🍴 The US president imitated a French accent and said that Macron's wife "treats him extremely badly" and that Macron was still "recovering from the right to the jaw." 🤦‍♂️🎤 On a visit to Seoul, Macron, who was accompanied by his wife Brigitte, said Trump's comments were "neither elegant nor up to standard." ✨🇫🇷 #Trump#Macron 👂More on Trump's Ear ⚠️

America's European allies stood united Monday against President Trump's escalating campaign to take control of Greenland, accusing him of blackmail with a new threat of tariffs if they continue rejecting his bid for the U.S. to acquire the vast island. Mr. Trump, meanwhile, appeared to hint that he was still willing to use the U.S. military to achieve his objective. In a message sent to Norway's Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre and shared with other NATO allies, Mr. Trump said that due to the decision to award someone other than himself the Nobel Peace Prize this year, he no longer feels "an obligation to think purely of Peace,"and that he "can now think about what is good and proper for the United States of America." #Trump#EU 👂More on Trump's Ear ⚠️

Trump welcomedlawmakers, industry leaders, and hardworking miners from across the country to the White House “Champion of Coal” event. There, he signed an Executive Order directing the Department of War to purchase coal power, celebrated the Tennessee Valley Authority’s recommitment to coal, and was honored by coal miners as the “Undisputed Champion of Beautiful, Clean Coal” for his tireless leadership in ending the Radical Left’s war on the industry. This event underscored President Trump’s unwavering support for beautiful, clean coal — supporting workers, delivering affordable and dependable energy to Americans, creating high-paying jobs in rural communities, and enhancing our national security through American energy dominance. #Trump#Energy 👂More on Trump's Ear ⚠️

Traders placed nearly half a billion dollars in bets on falling oil prices just 15 minutes before President Trump’s announcement of “productive” talks with Iran sent prices tumbling. 📉 “It’s hard to prove causality . . . but you have to wonder who would have been relatively aggressive at selling futures at that point, 15 minutes before Trump’s post,” one market strategist told the Financial Times of the transactions. Roughly 6,200 Brent and West Texas Intermediate contracts traded between 6:49 a.m. and 6:50 a.m. on Monday, with unusually large bets in the oil futures market, worth roughly $580 million. The trades seemed reminiscent of an anonymous bet on Polymarket in January that saw one lucky user win $436,000 by betting on Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro’s ouster just hours before he was captured by U.S. forces. ⚠️ #Trump#Oil 👂More on Trump's Ear ⚠️
