🇬🇧🇨🇳🇮🇷UK Names China and Iran Behind Major Cyberattacks The UK's National Cyber Security Centre CEO Richard Horne, speaking at the UK's annual cybersecurity conference in Glasgow on April 22, warned that state-linked hackers now account for the majority of the country's most significant cyber incidents. The UK is currently averaging four major cyberattacks per week, with China, Iran, and Russia named as the primary state-level threats. Horne specifically attributed attacks on the UK Electoral Commission, MPs, and armed forces personnel data to China. MI5 had previously identified over 20 Iran-linked cyber operations since 2022, some targeting individuals residing in the UK. Horne also noted that other European nations face the same threat vectors from the same state actors. Ransomware remains the most common threat for most organisations, but the strategic shift toward state-sponsored intrusions marks an escalation in the UK's threat environment. #UK#China#Iran @asianomics
