👀 JUST IN: MAJOR CHANGES TO NEGATIVE GEARING AND CGT ANNOUNCED IN FEDERAL BUDGET Labor has announced major property tax changes in the 2026 federal budget, handed down on May 12. Negative gearing for new investors will be limited to new builds from July 1, 2027, while existing investment properties bought before budget night will be grandfathered. The 50% capital gains tax discount will also be replaced with an inflation-linked system and a new minimum 30% tax on gains from July 1, 2027. @Aussie

⚠️JUST IN: Man Snatched at Gunpoint in $10 Million Ransom Kidnapping 43-year-old Albert Harmouche was grabbed at gunpoint outside a house in Bass Hill, south-west Sydney, on Tuesday night. The men demanded up to $10 million and sent videos of him with a gun to his head to family and friends. He was released this morning after a substantial ransom was paid and is now recovering in hospital. Police are still investigating the motive but he has known links to the Hamze crime family. ‼️ JUST IN: SUSPECT IN 5-YEAR-OLD’S KILLING ARRESTED IN ALICE SPRINGS Jefferson Lewis was on the run before locals tracked him down and attacked him, with police arriving shortly after to take him into custody. Police used pepper spray to control crowds outside Alice Springs Hospital where he was being treated. He was later airlifted to Darwin under guard for his safety. @Aussie
