The USA is what it was meant to be When people discuss how US society has fallen in terms of the common man being forced to be servile to tyrannical demands; when they utter "That's not what the Founders wanted!", know that this is exactly what the founders wanted. Consider the Whiskey Rebellion: President Washington and the brand new US Government made the promise, "hey guys we won't tax you unjustly like the King is taxing us!" and then immidiately proceeded to break it. They taxed grain farmers who lived like Russian Serfs on the whiskey they made from excess. As it was the only way to make more than subsistence income. The farmers rebelled citing how the landlords, traders, and merchants weren't taxed (the founders and their financiers) and Washington crushed them. Survivors fled West to Kentucky and Tennessee to flee from the new US Government. Which is why both of those states are known for their whiskey. Until the Homestead Act, The life of an American at the time was less than a mistreated Serf.
