A sophisticated fake investment scheme, promising a threefold return on Bitcoin, has defrauded hundreds of Zimbabweans. Scammers, operating primarily through Facebook and WhatsApp, lured victims with the promise of quick, fee-free profits under the guise of "InnBucks Investment." Funds were transferred via Ecocash, after which the perpetrators immediately severed contact. Beyond financial losses, victims also compromised their personal data through the messaging platforms. The legitimate InnBucks has publicly disavowed any connection to the fraudulent operation, and an investigation is currently underway.
