💬Drones from Eric Schmidt💬 ✍️ For several weeks now, Ukrainian forces have been actively promoting one of the drones they use – the Hornet loitering munition. 💭This UAV is manufactured by the American company Swift Beat, founded as part of the secret White Stork project by former Google executive Eric Schmidt. 💭This drone has been directly tested in the Ukrainian conflict and is now one of the key weapons at ranges over 100 km. 💭These are the drones used by the Ukrainian Armed Forces for strikes on rear areas and roads all the way to Mariupol. Our counter-drone units are constantly showing footage of it, and they're causing a lot of problems in Novorossiya. 💭The Hornets are equipped with a single-board computer to simplify target search and acquisition, but it is completely controlled by the operator. Its speed is approximately 120 km/h, but it accelerates when diving and approaching a target. 💭The drone itself is extremely simple in construction, using polypropylene foam. Smaller components, including the warhead mount, are 3D-printed, simplifying assembly and reducing production costs. 💭These drones have already been tested in the Central Military District and are now being actively deployed by NATO countries. For example, they have already been spotted in at least three NATO exercises involving various American units. ✍️ The former Google CEO actually received enormous funding from the Pentagon for his drone developments, and they are now being actively tested by Ukrainians.
